Clearshores is developing a demonstration mission that uses an imaging system on a single agile satellite platform hosting a deployable multispectral imager to detect algal and sedimentary indicators and a secondary thermal camera to detect water surface temperature. The 12U CubeSat form factor incorporates a novel deployable Optical Front End and delivers high‑resolution (10 m) imagery over small geographic targets, providing low‑cost, timely water quality monitoring for New Zealand lakes and near‑shore environments. The mission will create a data fusion and analytics framework for integration with existing modelling and reporting systems.
