PR-CUNAR is a scientific-educational initiative that designs and launches small satellites, also known as CubeSats, to conduct research and exploration in the fields of science, technology, and education. The company's flagship project is the Puerto Rico CubeSat NanoRocks2 (PR-CuNaR2), a 3U CubeSat that was successfully launched into orbit on October 12, 2021. PR-CUNAR is a collaboration between the University Interamericana de Puerto Rico, the Instituto Espacial de Florida, and the Department of Physics at the University of Central Florida. The company provides access to space for small satellites, offering a low-cost platform for researchers and students to conduct experiments and gather data. Through its NASA-CubeSat Launch initiative, PR-CUNAR aims to provide opportunities for educational institutions and non-profit organizations to participate in space-based research and development.
