The Analog/Mixed Signal VLSI and Devices Laboratory (AVDL) is a research group led by Dr. Syed Kamrul Islam at the University of Missouri, Columbia. The team focuses on designing and developing analog, mixed-signal integrated circuits in bulk CMOS and SOI technologies, as well as modeling semiconductor devices for high-frequency, high-power, and high-temperature applications. Their research areas include devices, semiconductor devices, ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors, high-temperature electronics, and low-power energy harvesters. The AVDL team also explores AI/machine learning and digital hardware design. Their work has the potential to transform human health by creating low-power biomedical devices that can detect chronic kidney disease, predict diabetes, and detect respiratory issues. With a strong emphasis on research and education, the team provides opportunities for undergraduate research and mentorship.
