Centre for Programmable Photonic Integrated Circuits and Systems (CPPICS) is a Centre of Excellence established at Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras and funded by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India for research and development of industry standard Programmable Photonics Integrated Circuits and Systems in collaboration with Si2 Microsystems, Bangalore for Photonic IC Packaging solutions Leveraging the tremendous advantages of Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) and Silicon Nitride-on-Insulator (SNOI) material platforms, we are focused primarily on developing Field Programmable Photonic Gate Arrays for System-In-Package Quantum Photonics Processor and Microwave Photonics Processor. These multi-functional circuits will target applications such as Reconfigurable RF Filter/Oscillator, Quantum Key Generation and Distribution etc. Nevertheless, we are always on the lookout for exciting technologies and applications As a dedicated group of researchers passionate to bring in the photonic revolution to the Indian and global tech market, we are equipped with state-of-the-art nano fabrication facility at Centre for NEMS and Nanophotonics (CNNP) along with the experimental and testing facility at Integrated Optoelectronics Laboratory, IIT Madras
